Split Green Pea Dal (Instant Pot)

1- In an Instant Pot, sauté

3 tbsp curry powder

2 tbsp black mustard seeds*

1 tbsp garam masala

2 bay leaves

1 cup carrots, diced

3 onions, diced

4 garlic cloves, minced

2- Add

1 can tomatoes (398 ml)

4 cups water

1/2 cup quinoa**

1 1/2 cup split green peas

Juice 3/4 lemon

3- Pressure cook on high for 15 minutes.

4- Serve with chopped cilantro to taste.

*Could be any color, black is more traditional though.

**or add couscous after cooking and let it sit for 3-5 minutes until it has desired texture.
