Classic Waffles

In a bowl, mix

1 cup whole wheat flour

2 tbsp baking powder

1 cup plant-based milk

1/2 cup applesauce

To cook, follow instructions that came with your waffle-maker. 

I encourage you to play with this recipe by adding your favourite ingredients to it. I know I love to add 1/4 cup unsweetened chocolate chips and 1/4 cup wild blueberries :).

This recipe is extremely easy and you can prepare the batter 3 days in advance. Simply stir it a little when comes the time to bake the waffles. I like baking big batches at once and freezing them. That way, on a hectic morning, all that’s left to do is popping them in a toaster and I get a delicious breakfast on the go :).
